Who played in The Quarry Men and The Beatles?

The Beatmakers: Litherland Town Hall, 19 October 1961

The Beatles and Gerry & The Pacemakers performed jointly under this hastily but very ingenious name, uniting the two groups. Gerry Marsden - the Pacemakers' frontman, wore George Harrison's leathers, and George, playing lead guitar, wore a hood. Paul, playing the bass, was in evening dress, and Freddy Marsden and Pete Best, both played the same drum, with George himself playing the piano. The entire masquerade ball played out on stage looked so funny and so much fun that Karl Terry, leader of Karl Terry & The Cruisers, which was also included in the billing for this evening show, joined the Beatmakers on stage to sing alongside them. What did the Beatmakers sing that night? "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin'On", "What'd I Say", "Red Sails In The Sunset" and "Hit The Road, Jack"
